History: Kaikou and Kokuei were born only a single minute apart from one another, Kaikou before Kokuei. They were brought into the world in the incredibly small village of Hoshigakure. Their parents were members of a small clan, known as the Yamashina. They were known as a clan of Alchemists, Scientists, and Astronomers, well known for their intelligence.
At an incredibly early age, the brothers showed amazing potential. They had already begun to play with the infamous bloodline of the Yamashina clan, but not enough to harm themselves, or need the use of the famous paper talismans yet. They also seemed to show a much more advanced level of intelligence than many children their age. They were soon being called the Twin Prodigies of the Yamashina clan, not something that had been seen before amongst the family members.
By the time these boys were eight years old, they were enrolled in the Ninja Academy and quickly became the star pupils. They aced all their exams and had stellar grades. However, their rather rigid and highly intellectual personalities did not land them far on a social standard. They didn’t have a single friend, and never got along well with anyone. As a result, they spent much of their time studying, learning all that they could.
They graduated from the Academy early, becoming Genin at the young age of ten as opposed to the traditional twelve. They were placed on a three man Genin team together, where they viewed their third member as simply a partner and nothing more. They had been practicing the utilization of their bloodline, and had finally become potent enough with it that they were each given an enormous stack of the Onmyou Mayoke. With those cards in their arsenal, these twins were a force to be reckoned with.
Soon after obtaining their signature paper talismans, the boys began tinkering on their own time. They soon began to realize that they were rather good inventors, and had a natrual talent with creating unique weaponry. This talent was gradually enhanced over time by utilizing the family scrolls on alchemy. Another unique hobby that was picked up by the two boys was fortune telling. They had a unique obsession with tarot cards, and reading the stars. As years went on, they became rather good at it, but never incorporated it into their combat styles. It was simply something that they boys liked to do on ocassion.
By the age of 14, the two boys entered the Chuunin exams as the most probable students to move on. The first examination was a simple spying exam, which the boys passed with ease. The second was a survival exam, where the boys and their partner were to survive in an enclosed wooded area known as The Forest of Death. It was there that the boys’ partner fell to an enemy team of ninja. The third exam, was the most important one for the twins. This final exam was a small tournament, where one on one battles would be held.
They easily passed their individual rounds. However, due to the death of an examinee outside of one of the arena fights, there was a two on two match organized, with Kaikou and Kokuei paired together against two ninjas from the village of Takigakure. This pair of waterfall ninja knew the old stories about the war between Hoshi and Taki. So did Kaikou and Kokuei. In a sense, this was a fight to prove which village was stronger. As soon as the fight began, Kaikou and Kokuei predicted that their enemies chance of survival was 2.7%. This enraged their opponents, and caused them to proceed into a violent rampage of attacks. However, these attacks were swiftly deflected, and in a matter of seconds, each of the waterfall ninja were covered in strange paper talismans. As soon as the paper talismans were attached, the twins made another prediction. They stated that it would only take them another three minutes to defeat their opponents. This also enrage the waterfall nin. However, within the next three minutes, the Twins displayed power that had never been seen before. They displayed an extremely high level of understanding of their bloodline, and their cold calculating minds guaranteed them a spot as Chuunin.
After the exams and returning home, the twins were offered a position as ANBU trainees. Within the next few years, the boys drastically increased their abilites, and became killing machines. They were able to use their bloodlines in coordination with the tracking and assassination techniques taught to them as members of the Hoshigakure ANBU squad.
Within a few years time, the Yamashina twins developed a rather frightful reputation for being the two most powerful ANBU in the hidden star village. They specialized in coordinated attacks, and assassinations.
At the age of nineteen, the twins were approached by a young man by the name of Fushi Genki. He was a high ranking ninja from hidden rock, and had a unique proposition. He stated that he had heard of their expertise as Alchemists. This was true, seeing as their clan roots originated from Alchemy, and the study of the stars and planets.
His request was an odd one. He wished for the twins to make him a legendary object known only to members of the Yamashina clan. Or those highly educated in ancient mythical artifacts. The twins agreed to do so, under one circumstance. They wanted to be promised to have access to all the power they could attain their hands on. He agreed to grant them access to innumerable amounts of scrolls, items, and research to strengthen themselves.
With that agreement made, the Yamashina Twins were the first members of the Five Stars It has now been four years since then, and their power has grown. So has their knowledge on items and techniques needed to create the legendary item desired by Genki.
Hobbies: Fighting, training, following orders, coordinating attacks, fishing, good hygiene, creating new techniques, experimenting, collecting information, creating new battle tactics, creating items, fortune telling.
Personality: Kaikou and Kokuei are very similar in almost every aspect. They have similar views on things, and are incredibly difficult to tell apart. They seem to have even found a rather creepy way of saying the same things at the same time, or even finishing each others sentences. They remain typically calm, and are very calculating and mathematical in their statements. They were born with photographic memory, and are able to recall very specific statistics in the blink of an eye, making them a very intelligent pair of brothers that easily function better together, than apart. They can easily deduce an opponent’s strengths and weaknesses after seeing them fight for only a brief moment. That allows them to then calculate their chances of success, often making them very intimidating and frightening to combat against.
