History: Mahavira was born as Jyuuku Goza by a couple in the Waterfall Village. He was an only child, and his parents were somewhat involved in his life. At the age of 5, Mahavira or “Goza” began his training in Kyushojutsu, or Dim Mak, a fighting style known to many families in Takigakure. The style was centered on focus and control of ones chakra, and involved hours of meditation and rigorous training. He was not particularly adept at the fighting style, and struggled adjusting to his nearly ascetic lifestyle. However, his parents continued to teach him and he excelled at a mediocre rate.
When he was 7, he began learning the basic taijutsu strikes involved in Kyushojutsu. These techniques involved slow precise attacks that used a strong control of chakra to damage internal organs and shut down areas of the nervous and muscular systems. Here Mahavira displayed a high level of chakra, but still struggled with the control needed for the precise fighting style. He began to become frustrated with himself, but continued to learn from his parents.
At the age of 9, Goza began his career at the Ninja Academy. He took his taijutsu skills and continued to refine them while learning the basic Ninja skills he would need later in his life. He did fine at the academy, but still struggled with his Kyushojutsu techniques, though he continued to show strong levels of chakra. He began to become accustomed to meditation, though it didn’t help him as much as he’d like with his focus. Unfortunately, he didn’t adjust well to the academy atmosphere either, and was often made fun of for his failures and his physical appearance, as well as his odd mannerisms.
By the age of 12, Goza had learned the fundamentals of his fighting style, and was able to hold his own in combat. It was also at this time that he graduated from the academy and was placed on a three man team. While he had finally learned the techniques he needed, he was still frustrated with himself, and still had terrible focus. As he went through several missions, he continued to grow exponentially in his chakra levels, but his control seemed to decline. At the age of 14, his team qualified for the Chuunin exams.
In the chuunin exams Goza and his partners did well, and made it to the last test. Here they were pitted against their fellow shinobi in one on one battle. Both of Goza’s partner’s succeeded, and Goza was pitted against a boy from Kirigakure in the final battle. Here he struggled to fight his opponent, failing to succeed in using enough to control to make his style effective. After being beaten to a pulp, he was pushed to the edge and made a last ditch effort to defeat his enemy, deciding to rely on his strengths rather than his weaknesses. Using an unrestrained blow that originated from his fighting style, he released a large amount of chakra, and rather than softly disabling his enemy, horribly injured him, leaving him in a crippled state. The lack of control had also been cause of a backlash, shattering Goza’s arm. Despite this careless victory, he was appointed a Chuunin, but was looked down upon by his peers for nearly killing his enemy, and was forced to wait and recover for nearly a year.
After his recovery, Goza resumed his training, doubling his efforts to learn control of his chakra. However, he still struggled immensely and made little progress. As the pressures of his struggle welled up inside of him, he also received a high level of verbal and social abuse, and was continuously put down by his peers. He became distant with his parents, who abandoned his training as a lost cause and began to stop supporting his aspirations. This downpour of emotional strife made Goza somewhat unstable, and eventually, he exploded violently.
After being insulted by one of his peers, Goza relinquished 15 years of anger, and fell into a blind fury. In a horrible unrestrained act of violence, he ripped the mocker to pieces, and killed a number of civilians in the adjacent areas. In response to this massacre, he was pursued by a number of authorities who chased him to the villages end, and nearly killed him. His anger motivated him to fight back, and he escaped from the village after a long and violent struggle. At this point Goza fled from the village, as an act of fear.
For the next few years Goza wandered through the countries, finding resources and killing people who crossed his path. Though he was still untrained, his wrath coupled with his enormous level of chakra helped him fuel an overly destructive form of his previous fighting style, and he became known for his ability to blow holes in the bodies of his victims. This information reached the ears of Tatsujin, the Sound Lord, and using food and shelter as bait, recruited Goza, who was now 20. Goza served Tatsujin well, but was still discontent with his life. He resumed meditation in order to suppress his anger, but still had no purpose. At the age of 24, Goza discovered a Buddhist text and had what he considered to be an epiphany during his meditation. At this point in time, he converted to a twisted Buddhist faith that originated from his lack of knowledge about the entirety of the religion and his desire to achieve Nirvana through achieving absolute power. He then attempted to leave Tatsujin, but was apprehended. After killing many of sound’s shinobi in a violent outburst of wrath he was placed in a chakra restraining cell deep within the Sound Lord’s laboratory.
For the next ten years, Goza practiced his meditation and refined his style in order to incorporate his large amount of chakra rather than precise focus. He also developed his own concept of the “middle path”, and spent countless hours training his mind. He cut off all ties with his past, and renamed himself “Mahavira”. For the ten years he perfected his beliefs, and trained his body while occasionally hindering his studies with fits of rage. After ten years had passed, a young woman named Hitonomi, who proposed him to aid her in the destruction of Tatsujin and his institution. Having her be the first person he had seen face to face in 10 years, he agreed instantly, and showed a decent composure, but when confronted by Tatsujin’s men broke into an uncontrollable fury. For the next several hours he ran through the facility, killing Tatsujin’s followers left and right, leaving them hideously dismembered. After his rage had ceased, he saw the defeat of Tatsujin and agreed to serve Hitonomi as long as she would help him gain power, and achieve Nirvana.
Hobbies: Meditation, Training
Personality: At first glance Mahavira is a calm, disciplined man. He is an avid Buddhist, and spends most of his time in deep thought while trying to stay on the “middle path”, though his view of this is somewhat warped. He obeys commands with no complaints, carries out objectives efficiently, and takes a very sober approach to everything. However, Mahavira has a severe anger problem that is inefficiently repressed. This method of repression involves storing his wrath and irritation as he goes through his day, avoiding violent outbursts. Unfortunately, at a certain point he fails to do so, and he becomes enraged. This transition is quick and unseen making him horribly unpredictable. He can be pushed to the edge by a severe act against his interest, or even the slightest annoyance, however, he seems to be prone to violent behavior when questioned about his choice of hairstyle.
Mahavira’s outbursts an incredibly violent, and often result in the death of the provocateur, or even innocent bystanders. This accentuates the destructiveness of his lethal fighting style, but turns him into loose cannon and often prevents him from carrying out objectives in an efficient manner. In the worst case scenarios his unstably large amount of chakra serves as fuel to destroy nearly everything in his surroundings, often crippling his team’s ability to work efficiently, and killing an unreasonable amount of civilians.
Regardless of his emotional condition, Mahavira is merciless in battle, killing his enemies quickly in the most brutal of manners. He never leaves survivors, and has been known to kill civilians if they serve as a hindrance in any kind of way.
(Mahavira's "power" is his reformed fighting style. It is not a bloodline but it is like the most lethal taijutsu in the history of Shinobi and basically has the potential to blow enemies to bits with a single strike. I'll post up in the jutsu section tommorow.)
