History: Shidan was born to a small family, his father being a Kiri ANBU captain, his mother a tracking nin, while his grandfather had already retired from his shinobi career.
His father being a ANBU captain expected alot from Shidan, forcing him to train till he dropped from exhaustion. When he did drop he would begin a game they had played many times before, called "don't break" the object of the game was to torture Shidan till he breaked and told his father what he wanted to know, whether it be if he did somthing bad to what his favorite book was. The point was to see whther Shidan could hold the information under torture. Needless to say he lost nearly every time due to his young age (Meaning not exactly used to pain yet, though he did have a high threshold for it later on in life) After the game his father would drill him constantly repeating that a shinobi's purpose in life was to kill ones enemies and to win no matter what the cost.
This process was repeated every single day of his life since he entered the academy, meant to strengthen Shidan, which it did, but left him emotionally dead. His mind having been brainwashed into thinking that it was normal and that his father must really love him to put so much time into training him.
At the age of thirteen he was covered with scars, whether they be from cut or burns he had them, the worst one being oer his right eye, which he had recieved when he did not get a perfect score in a class. His father having slashed him with a scapel while telling him the answers to the test, saying the pain would make him remember them.
During his genin days the training did not let up, in fact it increased more, having to train with his father and his genin team sensei, though the training with his sensei was a cake walk compared to his fathers.
His sensei however was worried about Shidan, after having seen all the scars on his body after a training session. The sensei came to Shidan's home, to discuss the scars with his father, who was not exactly the happiest person when he was confronted with it. When Shidan came home he came home to the site of both his sensei and his mother dead on the floor and his father gone.
After Shidan was found by his teammates, who ran and got some ANBU who found him eating at the table, both his mother's and sensei's bodies on the floor. They thought at first that the boy was in shock, but the truth was he did not feel anything about it. He had been trained to not feel emotion, to not care about death, which he had done rather well.
After the ANBU had "questioned" him about the incident, he was sent to live with his grandfather, who had a home not far from the Mist village. Life was actualy pretty easy with his grandfather, who believed i a more passive manner of training. As well as the fact that he was retired he would spend the whole day with Shidan, trying to undo the brainwashing that Shidan's father had done.
It was a terribly slow process, but his grandfather eventually was able to undo most of the brainwashing, but he would never be able to undo all of it. Just a few weeks after his grandfather had done this Shidan was sent to the Chuunin exams, along with his team mates (Who until now he had not cared about). He and his team moved through the first exam easily enough, but the second exam, was slightly difficult, due to one of of his team mates had been injured near the begining by another team of genin, though they were able to get through it at a decent time, only having encountered one more team of genin.
His team made it, but one of his team mates (The one who had been wounded) died only a few minutes after they reached the finish. Both Shidan and his team mate were devestated by this, his other team mate just letting himself be killed during the third match. Shidan however regressed to his first training, not letting any emotion out. He killed his opponent before the person could even draw their weapon, having let out all the bottled up rage at once, using it to fuel his rage and kill him.
Having won his fight, as well as highly impressed the judges with his speed and strength and ability to end the fight as soon as it began. Needless to say he was promoted to chuunin with no problems. His grandfather was happy about this, though he was slightly disappointed that Shidan had slightly reverted back to his original training slightly.
His days as a chuunin were pretty average, going on missions from time to time, patroling the village walls, as well as other various other menial tasks. This however, was not what the village had in store for him, about three months after he passed the chuunin exams the ANBU of the Hidden Mist recruited him into their ranks.
He was both happy about this and nervous at the same time. He knew it was a great honor to be allowed into the ANBU, but at the same time he wanted to make sure he did not turn out to be like his father...He turned to the only person who he could trust in and take advice from, his grandfather who was nearly seventy years old now.
He talked with his grandfather about it for hours upon hours, but finally his grandfather raised his hand, which quieted Shidan as if just the raising of the hand cut off his voice. His grandfathers spoke calmly and with a small smile on his face as he said "Your father may have been made like that from the ANBU, but it is your choice whether to let them control you. It will always be your choice. No matter what you decide, you will always be yourself."
That was one fo the very few times that Shidan ever smiled. He knew what he would do now...in the morning he accepted the ANBU's offer and joined them. Hoping to show his grandfather that he was better than his father, that he would not let anyone control him, but himself...
For a few years he served faithfully, doing as the village asked, though he would always tell himself in his mind that it was his own choice to do so. Eventually he was promotted to the rank of Jounin and he eventually even accepted the rank of ANBU squad leader. Even though he was often on high risk missions he liked his life, finding it quite easy.
So, as anyone could see he was happy with his life, doing pretty much the same things he did as a chuunin, going on missions from time to time, working at the academy sometimes and patroling the village, One day however his entire life changed. He was supposed to have met with his commanding officer in ANBU, but when he came there he was ambushed and restrained. They told him it was nothing against him at all, but that they needed to keep him out of the way for now. That he couldn't interfer with this assasination, even if it was his grandfather. It seemed that his grandfather had been hiding information about his father's whereabouts from the Mizukage.
His grandfather had done this to protect his son. His son might have been evil to Shidan, but it was still his blood and he would protect him. After told this Shidan went into a rage, breaking the bonds holding him and killed the people in the room, ripping his own commanding officer's throat out, but it was too late...by the time he reached his grandfather's home it was ablaze. Which would later be reported as the man had a heart attack while making tea and the fire for the tea spread cathing the house on fire which killed him.
He only shed a single tear for him. After that he joined up with some others who had reasons to go after the Mizukage, his reason though was his grandfather more than anything. The leader of the group later say that their goal was to kill all kages to bring a end to the fighting. He did not truly believe in the goal of killing all the kages, due to more would just spring up in their stead and it would throw the world into chaos more than bring order.
Hobbies:He enjoys to just sit back and relax and will either have a drink or smoke his pipe. He usually doesn't do anything during this time other than watchthe sky or whatever is happening, though he always chooses a isolated area.
Personality:Shidan is a man who wants little. All he really wants in this life is to relax somewhere isolated and then either drink some sake or smoke his pipe. He likes the quiet life now, unlike his earlier years when he was taught to be emotionless, to be in-human in his killings.
He really does not even like thinking about what he had gone through before his father left and he lived with his grandfather...those were very dark days for him, full of suffering and hardships. He does however force himself to think on those events once a week to make sure that he does not forget them. He wants to make sure he remembers what it was like so that he knows to never let anyone go through that suffering ever again.
So he is now completely oppoesite of what he was when he was a child. Instead of his original emotionless heart he is now laid back, but fun to be with.
